WEEKLY MONITORING

According to my schedule, I should have been carrying on with my production. Editing my photogrpahy and creating my posters, magazine and teaser cards. This week I was able to meet these aims and I did the basic production of my products. They arent all quite finished but they are all basically finished. I was able to complete my two posters, front cover of my magazine, internal double page spread, and almost finish my single article and also 2 teaser cards.
Shown below are the products that I have created so far.

My actions have gone to plan in regards to the prgress that I have made this week, as I have been able to complete all of my products. I may not have been able to complete them fully but I have been able to complete them to the best standard that I possibly can. It wasnt necessary for me to use any of my contingency planning as nothing particulally went wrong. Through creating these products, my skills on photoshop has developed significantly. I am not worried about the progress that I have made this week and think that my client would be extrermeely pleased with the outcome of this week.

WEEKLY MONITORING

This week it was half term, meaning I had a week off college. Although I had no lessons, the college was still open which allowed me to come into college to carry on with my production. This week I should have been working on my post production editing. Although I was only able to make it into college one day out of the 5 days. This was for a variety of reasons. On the wednesday I made it into college and was able to do complete some editing, on my first poster. On the thursday onward I wasnt able to complete anything. As on the thursday I was packing up my house and on the Friday we moved house. This was a lengthy process which has taken time, therefore not allowing me any time to do college work. Moving house also disallowed me to do any work from home as our internet and phone lines had been turned off and wont be back on for another week. This dosallowing me to update my blog at home or send work to complete at home to send back to college, which is what I normally do. Aswell as this, I have been very ill since thursday, and have been trying to sleep as much as I can. To add to all of this I had to work all weekend, at my part time job. Therefore I wasnt able to complete any of the things that I wanted to achieve in regards to catching up aswell as the things I had scheduled for this week. I order to rectafy this I aim to stay behind in college every night until I catch up and make steady progress with the production and post editing stages of my campaign.

First Teaser Card half finished

So far on this product I have used a brush of the Queen of hearts playing card and downloaded a font and written "Queen of Hearts?" as the title of my product. I put within the inside of the card an image from my external shoot in South park. As the image was alot shorter than this originally, I have used the clone tool and stretched it in order for it to be the correct length. I cloned the leaves at the bottom of the card, extending it to the right size for a playing card. I still need to add the facts and statistics to this card aswell as adding the NHS logo and promting the college nurse team by including the logo that I have created.

First stages of my magazine front cover

This is how far I have managed to get with my magazine today. I have managed to edit the colours within my photography. I have made rthe colours colder and then made her lipstick alot brighter aswell as the reds on her dress and label on the mushroom. I made the titale "Eat Me" the same colour as her dress aswell to make the magazine have a brand identity. I have to add the internal articles to the black block on the left hand side of the page aswell as adding my College nurse logo to it.

Second stage of Spit screen poster

After I had completed the left hand side of the poster, I saved it and opened it onto a landscape A4 paper and created the split down the middle in order for me to input the image of the door and the shunken version of Alice on top of the ecstasy tablet jar reaching for the door. So far I have managed to make the image look okay, but I need to insert the title of that side of the split screen, cretae a border all the way around the poster and down the split screen and I need to edit the colour of the door.

First stage of the split screen poster

I created each side of the split screen poster seperately and then Put them together to cretae the final product. This is the final version of the left hand side of my product. I used Photoshop to super impose my model into the room as a bigger version of herself compared to the size of the room. This is after she has tken some drugs from the ecstasy tablet jar. The tag line is written in a font named "Alice in Wonderland" and therefore is very appropriate.I have used a special effect on my model that makes her look almost cartoon like, this was done in order for it to resemble the film or the story in the book.

ARTICLE PLANNING- REAL LIFE STORY

This is my article planning document explaning in detail each part of my real life article. Explaining genre, narrative choice, register, stylistics, tone of address structure and pace. It goes in to detail explaining any techniques that I plan to use. Such as regional accents to create authenticity and appeal to my target audience.

WEEKLY MONITORING

According to my schedule this week, I should have been making sure that I am completing my post production editing. This means, editing on photoshop of my 2 posters, magazine front cover and teaser cards. The internal part of my magazine will be produced on the programme InDesign. Although this hasnt particulally gone to plan. I have managed to almost complete one poster, and have started editing the other. I have not been able to complete my magazine or scan in my design of the teaser cards. This lack of productivity may have occurred becuase of the heavy workload from other subjects. In business I have been set the target of completing two major sections in my final corsework, and this teamed with the 100% corsework in Media has been a struggle.
Below is a screen dump of the poster that I have made the most progress with.
I am pleased with the progress that I have made in this poster. In the production of this poster I created a black band in order to make the shocking statistic really stand out. I desaturated the poster in order to give over the negative affects of using drugs. I downloaded two fonts to use in the text included in the poster, I downlaoded them from fontsquirrel.com. I chose the ones that were in the gothic catorgory. I used a mask layer in order to make the cakes and mushrooms more bright and virbrant. I feel like I have gained new skills on photoshop from producing this poster. All of my actions went to plan. I planned to have this poster as a eye catching yet proffesional poster, which will appeal to my target audience. In the production stages of this poster I didnt need to use any contingencies.I think that my client would be disapointed with the progress that I have made this week, as I have only edited one poster and it still needs NHS and School nurse team logos adding to it.

WEEKLY MONITORING

According to my schedule this week I should have completed the two missing documents that I didnt finish last week, aswell as my external and internal photoshoots including the images that I want to include in my magazine and my final sketch of my teaser cards. I was succesful in completing half on these aims, as I managed to successfully complete my external phtoshoot on the wednesday and completed my 2 missing documents from last week. My actions went to plan in regards to my external phtoshoot, my model turned up on time and I was able to conduct a proffesional photoshoot with very effective photos as the outcome.I am very pleased with how it went and am currently in the post editing stages of production, using photoshop to edit the overall feel of the poster. I had to use one contingency through this photoshoot and that was because of the weather. I did check the weather forecast and it confirmed that there was a chance of rain. This did not deter me and I carried on with the photoshoot, but used an umberella in the photoshoot, which turned out to be very in keeping with the overall theme of the photoshoot and is now a main part of the photo.
Here is the original image that I may use in my poster; I am going to 3 of the other images on my teaser cards and intergrate them into my magazine.
I think the photos were extremely successful as it created the image exactly as I imagined it. I used various props and costumes to ensure that I created, without a doubt an Alice in Wonderland Theme.
The image below is one that I am considering as either my main poster image or if not this a definate to include on a teaser card.
I think that my client would be pleased with my progress this week, as I have my external photoshoot completed and this is the most difficult in regards to bringing props and models to an external location, I have my internal phtoshoot for my other poster on Monday at 3.20pm-4pm then all of my images will be ready for post production editing.

Unit 5- Contingencies

As part of my pre production planning, I conducted some research into possible problems that could occur in the production stages of my campaign. I filled out a table explaing some examples of the things that could go wrong and what contingencies I would put in place to rectify them. This is beneficial to me, as it allows me to ensure that I am prepared for anything that could go wrong, and nothing will suprise me and put me at a stand still if something crops up that could stop the whole process of my production stage.
